Illinois has enacted changes in legislation to fight sexual harassment in the workplace. In addition to the Workplace Transparency Act, amendments to the Illinois Human Rights Act and the Victims’ Economic Security and Safety Act, the Sexual Harassment Victim Representation Act and the Hotel and Casino Employee Safety Act have all been signed. These new regulations mean huge changes for all employers, varying from who is an employer in Illinois to disallowing nondisclosure agreements for claims of harassment or discrimination. As of January 1, 2020, all Illinois employers have been required to provide sexual harassment training to all employees on an annual basis.
The Illinois Chamber is offering training that meets the minimum requirements from the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
This comprehensive training course includes information and practical guidance on the federal and Illinois state anti-harassment laws, and covers all the required topics and more, including sexual harassment and abusive conduct, preventing harassment based on gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation, discrimination, retaliation, bystander intervention, diversity and inclusion and workplace civility.
Employers located in the City of Chicago must comply with additional requirements in pursuant to the City of Chicago Human Rights Ordinance. This training must be completed each calendar year in addition to the Anti-Sexual Harassment Training pursuant to the Illinois Human Rights Act.
Recordings Available for Purchase: Chicago bystander intervention, employee only, and supervisor only.
Subscription Program: The training will be valid through January 1, 2025. On this date, the yearly renewal fee for each purchased recording will be due. This fee allows the Illinois Chamber to store your individual recording, provide any updates throughout the year, and send the current year employee training certificate for personnel files.
