Privacy Policy
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce understands that privacy is important and we want you to know what types of personal information we collect through this site, how we use it, and whether it is shared with any unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes. It describes what this site actually does — it is not a generic template, and we update it when what we run changes.
Information you give us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily submit. On a contact, membership, or sponsorship form, that is the information the form asks for, such as your name, email address, phone number, organization, and message. To place an order in the online store, it is the name, email address, and address you enter.
We use that information for the purpose you submitted it: to reply, to follow up on a membership or sponsorship inquiry, or to complete and support an order. We use it for our own marketing only if you ask to be added to a mailing list. We keep the form submission and the order record so we can do that.
We do not share your information with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing.
Payment
Card payments are processed by Authorize.net. When you submit a card, the details are sent from your browser directly to Authorize.net, which returns a one-time token to us. Your full card number never reaches Illinois Chamber servers and is never stored by us. Authorize.net may set its own cookies as part of processing and fraud prevention, under its own privacy policy.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce is committed to protecting the security of information received through our online store. We use physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to secure the information we collect online.
Companies that handle information for this site
Authorize.net processes card payments, as described above.
Mailgun delivers email for this site, including the message that carries a form submission to the Chamber and store messages about an order.
Vercel hosts this website. With your permission, Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights also measure which pages are visited and how quickly they load. They do not set cookies.
Google receives information about your visit if you load the map on the Contact page. The map stays behind a placeholder until you allow it. The site can also run Google Analytics, but no measurement ID is set today, so it does not run. If it is switched on later, it loads only for visitors who allow analytics.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the shopping cart and checkout working, and your browser keeps a record of your cookie choices. Optional analytics and the embedded map stay off until you allow them. You can change that choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. What each service does is described in our Cookie Policy.
Other Chamber systems
Some links leave this website, including member login and event registration. Those services collect information under their own privacy policies, not this one.
Questions
For questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please contact the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. See also our Cookie Policy.
