a member of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, you may receive
one or more of several electronic publications like our HR
Exec, Government Affairs Report, Exec Report, the Political
Insider, Employment Law Council Update, InfraWorks Illinois,
Economic Development Update, Local Chamber Update, Chamber Tax
Update, etc. Some of these publications are distributed to
all members while others are directed to targeted audiences
and members must choose to be included in their mailing list.
Consequently, we realize that many members may not be getting
a good overview of what the overall organization is
accomplishing on your behalf. You make an investment in the
Illinois Chamber and should know our agenda and results.
Each quarter, I report to our Board of Directors on
the previous three months’ accomplishments. I’m making my most
recent report available to you. Please click
here to read the Board Report that was delivered
last week for the first quarter of 2006. I invite you to read
this summary and give me feedback on whether or not the
content of the report is useful to your understanding of the
Chamber’s activities and the affairs of Illinois business.
This is an experiment to learn if such a quarterly
report is of interest to the general membership. It is in the
best interests of the organization for every Illinois Chamber
member to have a basic understanding of the breadth and scope
of the organization’s undertakings and challenges. We also
hope to satisfy every member’s appreciation of how your
important financial investment in the Illinois Chamber is
working on your behalf and to promote the interests of
Illinois employers.
Throughout 2006 your Illinois
Chamber is undertaking a review of our communications
vehicles. We will be working to enhance the quality and value
of your access to information. Our focus is on a results
oriented program that seeks to achieve a better climate and
improved economy for our state. Your continued support and
feedback is always welcome.
