Chamber's HR Illinois opens registration for 2008 spring seminars

Hundreds of Illinois business owners and managers invested in their businesses and their careers in 2007 with the Illinois Chamber's HR Illinois seminars on a variety of HR topics. We are pleased to launch our 2008 seminar season with our first three topics every business owner or manager can benefit from: Sarbanes Oxley, Managing Electronic Data, and Hiring & Firing, as noted in the column to the right.

Sarbanes Oxley was signed into law on July 30, 2002. Its purpose was to rebuild public trust and investor confidence in public traded companies by requiring that companies listed on the U.S. stock exchanges adhere to significant new governance standards and requirements. Since 2002, a range of new financial controls, disclosure and whistle-blower requirements have been established, providing better guidance for public and private companies as well as non-profit organizations.

If you're unsure how Sarbanes Oxley principles apply positively or negatively to your organization, we urge you to join us for this two-hour "lunch & learn" session conducted by expert attorneys from Jackson Lewis LLP.

Our Managing Electronic Data in a Litigious World seminar will inform HR managers, in-house counsel and IT professionals on steps you can take to manage your electronic data and avoid hidden liabilities that such data creates for every employer. Well written policies that are uniformly enforced and understood by employees can reduce the risk of expensive litigation and provide your company a framework in which to effectively manage electronic information. This seminar is presented by Joseph E. Gumina, Attorney, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C.

Back by popular demand from 2007 is our Hire the Best, Handle Problem Employees, and Fire Properly Seminar presented by Don Paullin, President of Hiring Firing Experts, Inc. Don is a former pharmaceutical executive turned successful entrepreneur and is the author of Hire Hotdogs Fire Baloney, a book on how people are the key to career and business success for owners, CEOs and managers.

Our seminar locations are convenient, our instructors are the go-to experts in their fields, our fees are very competitive, and our reputation is unparalleled. Join your peers at the Illinois Chamber's 2008 HR compliance seminars.
