Lincoln's Challenge Academy
The Lincoln’s Challenge Academy for troubled teens was established in 1993. It is located in Rantoul, Illinois on the grounds of the former Chanute Air Force Base. LCA is a part of the Illinois National Guard.
The principal purpose of LCA is to proved a vehicle for change in the lives of young men and women who have given up on school and, in some instances, life. Many of the young men and women who participate come from impoverished lives where violence and illegal drugs are mainstays.
The Challenge goal is simple: Provide a way to change the lives of at-risk youth and make them productive, valuable citizens.
In 2006, the Illinois Chamber adopted a resolution of support for LCA. The Chamber hopes to assist Challenge in promoting its value to the betterment of the lives of troubled teens in Illinois and in garnering resources needed to meet the complete programmatic needs of the Academy to facilitate the achievement of its purposes and central goal.
We encourage you to learn more about Lincoln’s Challenge Academy's history and achievements on their web site, www.ngycp.org/state/il/. Lincoln's Challenge Academy's phone number is 217-892-1328.
